Laura Tribe Testifying at C-51 Public Hearings in Vancouver

OpenMedia's Executive Director testified at yesterday's C-51 public hearings in Vancouver on behalf of 300,000+ Canadians who have spoken out against the unpopular Harper legislation.

Crucial parliamentary consultations on Bill C-51 kicked off yesterday in Vancouver and your OpenMedia team prepared and attended to testify on behalf of our community and thousands of Canadians who have voiced their strong opposition to this bill. Check out the video above to see our Executive Director Laura Tribe giving testimony, explaining exactly why Bill C-51 is reckless, dangerous, and ineffective, and why all Canadians deserve strong privacy rules to keep us safe (or watch the Facebook live video version here and leave us a comment).

We also live tweeted throughout the session, so in case you missed it, here's some of the highlights of the hearing:

See upcoming dates for the cross country public consultations here. The more people that show up and speak out, the higher our chances of getting Bill C-51 repealed and securing the privacy safeguards we deserve.
