Elizabeth May becomes first party leader to endorse OpenMedia’s pro-Internet Action Plan
Digital rights group is calling on all political parties and candidates to endorse pro-Internet plan crowdsourced from over 250,000 Canadians
In her letter endorsing the plan, Elizabeth May wrote: “Digital rights are human rights. As the web grows and evolves, we will face new legislative and regulatory challenges. We need politicians who are willing to defend those rights, stand up for users and passionately advocate for an Internet that is open and free, where Canadians have a right to privacy.”
Canadians can encourage their local candidates to endorse our pro-Internet plan by using a new tool launched this morning at OurDigitalFuture.ca/Candidates. Election candidates can endorse the plan by completing this short form.
