Our submission to the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Act review is in — thanks for speaking out!
We submitted our views to the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Act review on behalf of the OpenMedia community to foster an open and innovative Internet in Canada. Thank you for adding your voices!
The deadline for submissions to the government’s Broadcasting and Telecommunications Legislative review panel was last week, and OpenMedia contributed a detailed submission on behalf of our community, highlighting our key concerns and recommendations.
From Net Neutrality, to affordability, to Big Telecom’s bad sales practices, this review covers a broad range of issues that have a monumental impact on the Internet and its users. This is why it was a top priority for us to ensure the voices of our community were part of our submission. 9,636 community members signed our petition at: https://act.openmedia.org/CanadasInternet
Thank you for speaking out and being part of this important legislative process. It is essential that the government’s expert review panel understands how these issues impact everyday people and that people care about the future of Canada’s Internet.
We would also like to give a special thank you to Tamir Israel at Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC) for his support on this submission.
