The Media Democracy Day Fair took place on Friday evening and was met with great success. One of the most interesting and inspiring aspects of the fair was the variety of participants it brought out. Citizen journalism giant NowPublic to revolutionary recycling Free Geek to Victoria Street Newz to independent online acts like the Vancouver Observer, to name just a few, mingled, networked and shared ideas on why independent media is important and how to make it thrive.
