Our 2016 Community Survey: Putting you in the driver’s seat
Over to you: your feedback will ensure we put our resources where they’ll do the most good.
Today, we’re launching our 2016 Community Survey— where we put you in the driver’s seat when it comes to shaping our priorities over the year ahead.
This survey is hugely important for all of us here at OpenMedia. We’re all about keeping the Internet “open, affordable, and surveillance-free” and, as you might imagine, that mandate covers a LOT of ground.
Put simply, it’s impossible for our small team to take on every single digital rights challenge that crops up around the world. Accordingly, we work hard to maximize our community’s impact, by choosing carefully where to invest our limited time and resources.
Those decisions are TOUGH — we’re all passionate human beings and we really do want to dive into everything! That’s why, as a participatory organization, our community (that’s you!) plays a central role in determining what we put first. (You can read more about how we operate right here.) So by taking part in this survey, you will directly help shape what OpenMedia will focus on over the next 12 months.
Click here to take the survey right now— it will only take a few minutes of your time, and it even works on mobile devices. Just use the simple drag-and-drop functionality to prioritize the key issues that matter most to you.
Last year, over 6,500 supporters from 87 different countries took part, and your priorities helped shape some of our biggest wins of the past 12 months.
For example, you told us that Net Neutrality — the rules that keep the Internet free and open — was a top concern. As a result, we invested a lot of resources in Net Neutrality campaigns in Europe and in Canada. Just this week we had a huge win on this issue in Europe, and now we’re ramping up our efforts to secure a historic victory in Canada too.
And, with so many big challenges ahead when it comes to securing an Internet that’s affordable, accessible, open, and surveillance-free, we need you to tell us what matters most to you.
With your feedback, we’ll be able to put our resources where they’ll do the most good for the most people. Have you say at: OpenMedia.org/en/engage
Thanks for taking part! It means a lot to all of us!
